Lock 30 Woodlands is located one hour west of downtown Pittsburgh and two hours south of Cleveland, in the heart of plenty of family activities and recreation.

 

Park your RV and load up the car for a day full of fun. Return to the peace and serenity of your home “in the woods.”

 

Here’s a quick list of local attractions divided by “age and stage” from fun for wee kids to teens to adults.

All attractions easily accessed from state highways or drives 30 minutes to an hour on the interstate. Some are as close as 10 minutes away.

Creegan Company Animation Factory- Ever wonder how all those cartoon characters decked out in costume move? A great, one-of-a kind rainy day excursion less than an hour away.

Sycamore Valley Alpaca Farm - Thirty minutes from Lock 30, but worlds away from home. Stop at one of the fruit and vegetable stands on the rural route to this educational experience for the whole family.

 

Sports World- Batting cages, miniature golf, outdoor fun—on the way to the area’s biggest mall and shopping strip where mom can have fun, while dad stays with the kids! Thirty five minutes from Lock 30.

 

Glow Fore ItKids of all ages like miniature golf—but now we have glow in the dark miniature golf. It’s a hoot and a half hour away in Boardman. 330-758-4569

 

Salem Community Center-No rain on your parade if you go to this brand new facility with indoor pool, basketball courts and game rooms. It’s family affordable fun, 35 minutes from the woods.

 

Rogers “Sale”- That’s what the locals call it, but it’s a flea market “all day Friday sensation” with more than a thousand booths. Everything from cheap bedding plants to Italian sausage sandwiches, antiques, farm fresh eggs and pony rides.

 

Golf- Three public courses within fifteen minutes of your campsite and a half dozen local courses that offer weekday specials. Ask at the front desk for a list of favorites.

 

Peace Valley Orchards- For more than 60 years, locals have been enjoying this real fruit farm –from a tour of the apple blossom fields in May to picking your own apples mid-July to October. Homed baked apple dumplings for $2.95 and deep dish pies baked every Saturday. Free hay rides Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the fall. www.pvoinc.com


Cabelas--Wheeling WV retail store is located off just off St Rt I-70.  In addition to offering quality outdoor merchandise, the 175,000 sq. ft.showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction ,featuring a decor of musem quality-animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of there natual habitats.
